We happened upon the Sokoke breed by a chance email from Sue Creed of Aupeline Bengals and Sokoke in regards to the Sokoke. It was Sue's email that sparked our interest in this rare and beautiful breed. Upon expressing our interest to Sue and after quite a number of emails, we were thrilled to bits that Sue was willing to allow us to get involved with the breed.
At this present time, Sue has one beautiful import Sokoke girl named Aida, and a darling boy named Azizi. Yadumu, Sue's Sokoke stud boy from Norway will also soon be joining her breeding program. These 3 cats will be the start of the Sokoke breeding program in the UK. As the breed is almost extinct throughout the world, the preservation of this beautiful breed is paramaount and the future of the Sokoke in the UK is going to require very careful breeding planning and breed promotion. Sue has also been very generous in allowing us the use of her special boy, Yadumu who will be spending a little while here in the Schimmel household.
Whilst the Sokoke are a recognised breed with FIFE, they are not recognised by the GCCF and under Sue's guidance, our aim will be to achieve recognition with the GCCF for this wonderful breed. It's going to take quite a long time, an awful lot of hard work an effort but we truly think that this breed is worth it. We are so very grateful to Sue (our Sokoke mentor), for unselfishly sharing her thoughts, advice and her breed with us and we will be doing our very best, under Sue's guidance, to contribute to the breeding program of the Sokoke here in the UK.
We would like to make it perfectly clear to any breeders who are considering become involved with this beautiful breed that absolutely no outcrosses will be permitted at all in the Sokoke lines here in the UK. All registered Sokoke cats MUST have their pedigrees proven to trace back to the Sokoke district in Kenya from the approved source.
If you would like further information on the Sokoke breed, please visit the Sokoke Cat Club of Great Britain. The SCCGB is the official Sokoke Club here in the UK and it's aim will be to seek affiliation with the GCCF.

Please be advised that at present, the Sokoke breeding program is in it's infancy and no Sokoke kittens will be available for quite some time yet. At the moment, if you are interested in going on a waiting list for these beautiful and rare cats, or would like to know more about the Sokoke, please contact any of the following breeders:
